About Dr. Patton

Dr. Patton provides comprehensive inpatient care at Lexington Medical Center.

Expertise

Dr. Patton has nearly 10 years of direct patient care experience, including several years as a certified nursing assistant before achieving her medical degree and finishing her residency clinical rotations. Certified in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support, she is also a certified emergency medicine technician. Dr. Patton most recently completed her residency where she gained extensive experience in a variety of patient care settings, creating diagnostic and therapeutic plans and managing patients from admission through discharge. She also co-authored several publications and presented a variety of case reports on a range of topics including elder abuse and hypertension during her residency.

Background

Dr. Patton received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and attended a post-baccalaureate program in biology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She then earned her medical degree at the UNC School of Medicine in Chapel Hill and completed an internal medicine residency at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.
