Important Announcement Regarding Cigna Healthcare (12/9/2025)
The information below provides important updates regarding Lexington Health and Cigna Healthcare commercial plans.
Dear Cigna Healthcare® Patient:
We want to provide an update regarding the status of our ongoing contract negotiations with Cigna. Lexington Health has been in active discussions with Cigna for several months, working in good faith to reach a fair and sustainable agreement that ensures continued access to care for our patients. Unfortunately, we have not been able to reach an agreement. Therefore, beginning January 1, 2026, Cigna will no longer consider Lexington Medical Center or its affiliated physician practices as in-network.
Even though our network status may change, we hope to continue to care for you and your family. As you choose where to receive your health services on or after January 1, 2026, please consider the following:
- If you are currently receiving ongoing treatments at Lexington Medical Center, you may qualify for continuity-of-care benefits that provide a transitional period for certain conditions. This means that your financial responsibility for care at Lexington Medical Center would not change for a period of time while you find another provider. If you have questions about the availability of continuity-of-care benefits, please contact Cigna or your employer.
- If you have an appointment scheduled with one of our providers for January 1 or later, someone from Lexington Medical Center will reach out to you to discuss next steps.
- Visits to our Emergency department for emergency services will always be treated as in-network care for Cigna patients.
- If the change to our participation status with Cigna causes a financial hardship, Lexington Medical Center has financial assistance programs that may be able to help.
