Nurse that assistant me doing my bp and ekg, was very polite and professional. She listen to my concerns . What impressed me was her honesty. She didn't pretend to have knowledge of things she wasnt familiar with she didn't give me her on personal opinion . Instead she said she will address my concerns with the Dr and let him know. Dr Van Horn awesome . He addressed all concerns I had . He took his time with me and apologized for the waiting time for my appointment. He is sooo nice and polite and very knowledgeable talking to professionally but in a way for me to understand. Thank you Lexington for having such great people in your staff!

The physician care I receive at LMC is on a totally different (higher) level in comparison to 99% of the (mostly great) care I received in [...]. The 1% is my hip surgeon whose care was totally pff the charts, right up there with LMC. Dr. Van Horn represented, even after I arrived later than the 15-minute no-show window. (I drove slower because I was concerned about my car making weird sounds. Thank you!)

Dr Van Horn took time to discuss my diet with me and was so helpful with suggestions and truly seemed to care. I did not feel rushed, and felt completely satisfied with his care. He is just such a kind, nonjudgmental person, which allows me to be completely comfortable and honest. Every staff member I had contact with was very pleasant and they all seemed to enjoy their jobs. That is a rare and refreshing thing these days.

Stephen E. Van Horn Jr., MD, FACC, provides patients with the highest level of care in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular diseases.Expertise
Dr. Van Horn is an American College of Cardiology Fellow and a member of the American Heart Association, the American Medical Association and the South Carolina Medical Association. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and interventional cardiology.
Dr. Van Horn's special interests include general and interventional cardiology and structural heart disease, including patent foramen ovale and atrial septal defect closures.
Background
He is a native of Camden, South Carolina. He graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina, and earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. While at MUSC, he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Van Horn completed his internal medicine residency, cardiovascular disease fellowship and interventional cardiology fellowship at MUSC.
Medical Research
Dr. Van Horn' s research interests include alcohol septal ablations for hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarctions and intravascular ultrasound for percutaneous coronary interventions.
