About Dr. Hays
Dr. Hays is board certified in internal and pulmonary medicine with additional certifications in basic and advanced cardiac life support, and fundamentals of critical-care support. She is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, South Carolina Medical Association and Southern Medical Association.
Background
Dr. Hays earned her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia after graduating with her bachelor’s degree in biology from Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina. She completed her internal medicine residency at USC’s School of Medicine, where she served as chief resident. She also completed a pulmonary fellowship there.
Prior to joining the hospital’s network of care, Dr. Hays served as an intensivist and pulmonary physician at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood. She was also actively involved in its Physician Order Entry Team, Infection Prevention Committee, ICU Quality Committee and Trauma Committee.
