About Dr. Knight
As a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Knight specializes in sports medicine as well as arthroscopic and open management of conditions of the shoulder, knee and elbow. In addition to treating patients from elite and recreational competitors to non-athletes with musculoskeletal symptoms, he has specific interest in shoulder reconstruction, shoulder arthroscopy, knee ligamentous reconstruction, knee arthroscopy, cartilage restoration, sports injury management and fracture care.

A Lexington, South Carolina native, Justin R. Knight, MD, is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina Honors College with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering. He earned his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He went on to complete fellowship training in sports medicine at the UHZ Sports Medicine Institute in Miami.Background
During his fellowship, Dr. Knight was actively involved in the care of high school, collegiate and professional athletes, including players for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, Florida Panthers, Florida International University Panthers, as well as MMA and UFC fighters. He was also part of the Miami Dolphins medical staff at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dr. Knight worked in private practice in South Florida after his training, treating a wide variety of sports, trauma and general orthopaedic conditions, and he served as the team physician for Johnson & Wales University in North Miami.
