About Dr. Comer

Michael S. Comer, MD, graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina in Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He then earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and completed his residency with the University of South Carolina in Columbia.

Expertise

In addition to his training in family medicine, Dr. Comer has extensive experience in emergency medicine through his work with Lexington County Emergency Medical Services.

He received several honors and awards during his residency, including the Palmetto Health/USC Family Medicine Resident of the Block Award and the Palmetto Heath Children’s Hospital Appreciation Award.

Background

During his residency, Dr. Comer served as a volunteer at the Good Samaritan Free Medical Clinic and the Good Samaritan Prenatal/OB Medicine Clinic, both in Columbia. He also volunteered with the Dreher High School Football Medical Team.
