Dr. Athreya provides comprehensive neurological care to inpatients at Lexington Medical Center, including evaluating, monitoring, preventing and treating a variety of cognitive disorders.
Background
Dr. Athreya graduated from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville with a bachelor’s degree in cognitive science/ neuroscience and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
He then completed his neurology residency at Emory University in Atlanta, gaining extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and muscles in patients of all ages, as well as a one-year fellowship in clinical neurophysiology to read diagnostic electroencephalograms and perform electromyograms.
