Dr. Hammock is board certified in emergency medicine through the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine.

Background

A graduate of St. John’s University in Jamaica, New York, with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology, Dr. Hammock earned her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury and completed her emergency medicine residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, New York. She is an American Academy of Emergency Medicine Fellow and a member of the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians and the American Osteopathic Association.

Leadership

Dr. Hammock most recently cared for patients at MUSC Health Kershaw Medical Center in Camden, South Carolina, and served as a clinical assistant professor at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to these roles, she served as vice chair of the Emergency Medicine department at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.

Medical Research

She is also a published academic who has mentored students and residents for most of her career. The breadth of her research included ways to streamline workflows in emergency medicine, prospects for new quality indices and best practices to treat infections
