An American Board of Family Medicine diplomate and Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Snyder has nearly 20 years of experience in graduate medical education.Background
Dr. Snyder graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, and earned a master’s degree in anatomy from Pennsylvania State University in Hershey. He then completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Lansing and his family medicine residency at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. Dr. Snyder continued his training with a family medicine/obstetrics fellowship at Swedish Family Medicine Residency in Seattle, Washington, and a faculty development fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Leadership
He served as director of Medical Education and designated institutional official for Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, as well as an associate professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Uniformed Services University of Health Science in Bethesda, Maryland, and as an assistant clinical professor for the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Saint Louis University College of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
In addition to these roles, Dr. Snyder served as a hospitalist at Rural Physicians Group in Henderson, Nevada, and an instructor/advisory faculty for advanced life support in obstetrics for the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is also a member of the Institutional Review Committee for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, chair of the Human Resources Committee for Hope Christian Health Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, and a member of the Education Committee for the Uniformed Services Academy of Family Physicians.
Among Dr. Snyder’s many honors and commendations as a colonel in the United States Air Force is the USAF Special Experience Identifier Academic Grand Master award in recognition of exceptional expertise as a clinician and teacher. He puts his extensive experience to use as an abstract and peer reviewer for Military Health System Research Symposium, Military Medicine Research, Family Medicine, Prescriber’s Letter, American Family Physician and Family Physician Inquiry Network.
