Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Penmetsa is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society for Nuclear Cardiology. She recently completed her fellowship, where she gained extensive experience in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of heart-related conditions and diseases, as well as diagnostic imaging, minimally invasive procedures and nuclear cardiology.

Background

Dr. Penmetsa graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Emory University in Atlanta and earned her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She went on to complete an internal medicine residency at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, serving as chief resident, and completed a cardiology fellowship at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke.
