About Dr. Battiata

Dr. Battiata provides patients of all ages with surgical and nonsurgical treatments for ear, nose, throat, and head and neck disorders.

Expertise

During his military career, Dr. Battiata served as a staff otolaryngologist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the chief of Otolaryngology at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Since then, he has cared for patients in private practice, recently as an otolaryngologist at Palmetto ENT and Allergy in Columbia, South Carolina. Dr. Battiata is board certified with more than 25 years of experience in the diagnosis, treatment and management of ear, nose and throat disorders, including thyroid and salivary gland disease, head and neck surgical oncology, sinus disease and pediatric ENT conditions. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, as well as a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Background

Dr. Battiata received a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He then completed his general surgery internship and otolaryngology, head and neck surgery residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He also earned a master’s degree in human physiology and biophysics from Georgetown University.
