Expertise

Board certified in general surgery, Dr. Vaughn brings extensive clinical expertise to his practice. His residency training encompassed all aspects of general surgery, with specialized experience in hepatobiliary, colorectal and advanced minimally invasive techniques across laparoscopic and robotic technologies. His fellowship focused on complex critical-care management, critical-care bedside procedures and comprehensive management of emergency general surgery and acute trauma patients.

Background

A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Dr. Vaughn earned dual degrees—a Bachelor of Arts in business economics and a Bachelor of Science in biology—from Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, before completing his medical degree at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. He went on to complete both his general surgery residency and surgical critical care fellowship at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia.
